It’s time for a change

We’ve had 8 years of Chris Wharton, it’s time for a fresh set of eyes to tackle the city’s biggest issues.

Blake’s priorities

  • Families are leaving the city due to cost of housing. I personally could not afford my home that I bought just five years ago if I was buying in 2025. I would like to see SLC build fewer apartment buildings and build more condos, townhomes, and cottages. We need more ownership opportunities and gentle density.

  • The city has failed our unsheltered neighbors. Specifically, we haven’t done enough to enforce drug laws and to clean up our streets of Fentanyl. Additionally, there are people on the streets with mental health issues so severe that they need special treatment, in a facility built just for them. It’s not compassionate to let these people die on the street.

  • We can’t keep up on the maintenance of our parks. Mayor Mendenhall wants to spend hundreds of millions for the Green Loop. Until we can maintain our existing parks, we cannot afford to build out large scale projects. Our roads continue to be littered with potholes, and residents aren’t engaged when traffic calming measures are installed.
